SilK Foundation of Texas (“we,” “us,” “our”) respects the privacy of visitors to https://silkfoundationtx.org (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using the Site, you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide. When you contact us, inquire about a partnership or family-support matter, sign up for updates, or make a donation, you may provide your name, email address, organization, mailing address, message content, and payment information (handled by our donation processor).

Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider may log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device characteristics, referring URL, and timestamps. This information is used for security, performance, and abuse prevention.

Cookies and Tracking

The Site does not currently use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, third-party analytics, social media pixels, or behavioral profiling. Essential, session-only cookies may be used solely to deliver core site functionality.

If we add analytics or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and present a consent mechanism where required by law.

How We Use Information

• Respond to inquiries and requests.
• Process donations and issue receipts.
• Communicate about the Foundation’s work when you have asked to hear from us.
• Maintain records required for legal, tax, audit, or grant-making purposes.
• Protect the Site and the Foundation from misuse.

Donation Processing

Donations may be processed through Givebutter and its payment processing partners, including Stripe where applicable. Payment card details are submitted directly to those processors and are not stored on our servers. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.

Donor Privacy

SilK Foundation does not sell, rent, lease, or trade donor names or personal information with any third party. Donor lists are kept confidential and are used only for foundation purposes such as receipts, stewardship communications, tax-acknowledgement letters, and legally required reporting.

You may request to be removed from donor communications at any time by emailing info@silkfoundationtx.org.

Recipient Privacy

We protect the identity and information of individuals and families who receive or are considered for charitable assistance. We do not publish recipient names, photographs, or personal details without prior written consent.

Sharing of Information

We share information only with: (a) service providers who help us operate the Site, process donations, or deliver communications, under appropriate confidentiality obligations; (b) tax, legal, or accounting professionals as needed; and (c) authorities when required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by applicable law, including charitable-organization recordkeeping requirements.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact info@silkfoundationtx.org. We will respond consistent with applicable law, including Texas, California (CCPA/CPRA), and other state privacy laws as they apply.

“Do Not Sell or Share” notice. SilK Foundation does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws.

Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Visitors

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those of your country.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above shows when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
